It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. And despite not writing much on here, I’ve been thinking lots about why I haven’t blogged. And I have a theory.
I started this blog as a way to respond to things I’ve read. I could learn about health care, about foreign policy, about all manner of things, and then talk about them. It didn’t matter that I was just putting my thought out into the ether, at least they were written down.
But since I’ve started uni, and made amazing uni friends, I’ve been able to have real, not virtual, conversations about these things. I am challenged by people who disagree. Ideas are put through the rigor of conversation and debate. Rather than allowing those conversations to inform my blog, I’ve had them replace it.
That’s not to say I won’t continue blogging- I certainly will. And will endevour to be more fastidious about it.
But I suppose the blog serves a different function now. It’s not the same outlet it once was, because I have found a real, live outlet that talks back.
