One of the many things to change to China in the recent past is that they have embraced Christmas. When Mum and Dad were here in 2003, there was little, if any, Christmas paraphenalia. Now, it’s everywhere. And it’s NICE, too. When we went through the flower markets today, there were great little shops with really beautiful things.
It’s all Santa, though. Santa and snowmen. No angels, no nativity, nothing like that. It’s Christmas without any Christianity, which is fascinating and sad.
Though I did see a Christmas ornament with a Star of David. Smart.
