There was a fantastic article in today’s Sydney Morning Herald about a political vacuum in Australia.
“Most of all they tend to be both idealistic and pragmatic and unable to accept that we should not try to achieve more.
Finally, and most remarkably, they are uncertain about who to vote for. Some identify with the Liberal Party’s fading tradition of liberalism. Some support the ALP, despite its increasingly authoritarian instincts. Yet others support the Greens, whose decentralist philosophy and socially liberal tradition can clash at times with a highly prescriptive approach to achieving larger goals.”
