I’ll blog a bit about this tonight (after work!), but this article by Daniel Lewis about Narrandera is quite fascinating. It’s a profile of a country town, struggling with the drought and the effects of cimate change. Not least among the interesting elements of this story is the tale of the sermon at the local church, inspired by Barack Obama. It’s interesting to think about the place Obama is starting to occupy in the Australian imagination… and it’s something I fully intend to examine more closely in the coming weeks.
